Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Site, Services, content, and features and to enable users to enjoy the Site. When you create an account we will set up a Sitting for a Cause profile for you. The profile will generally contain your first name, location and pet details, and may include other content or information that you provide for purposes of your profile. These profiles will be made available publicly throughout the Site.
As used in this policy, the terms "using" and "processing" information include using cookies on a computer, subjecting the information to statistical or other analysis and using or handling information in any way.
1. Personal Information
When you register with us through the Site and become a Sitting for a Cause User, when you choose to post or reserve a listing, or when you contact a Sitting for a Cause User using the “Contact” feature of the Site, we will collect personally identifiable information. We collect personal information and other information you provide in connection with the delivery or enhancement of the Site. If you provide Personal Information for a certain reason, we may use the Personal Information in connection with the reason for which it was provided. When you utilize the Site, we may collect payment information which is necessary to fulfill your order and taxpayer identification numbers to fulfill obligations under applicable state or federal laws or regulations. All personally identifiable information shall be collectively referred to as "Personal Information." If you fill out a Contact Us form or email us, we will use that information to respond to your request.
Your Personal Information will not be distributed or shared with third parties unless it is:
A. To conduct business as you have contracted us to do or otherwise to provide the Site
B. To comply with state or federal laws or regulations, legal processes or obligations and/or law enforcement requests, protect and defend the rights or property of Sitting for a Cause, act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Site or the public, or protect against legal liability
C. To conduct business as we, in our sole discretion, consider reasonable
D. In connection with a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event in which Personal Information is part of the transferred assets.
In addition, as noted above, any Personal Information included in your profile will be available to the public and we may share your Personal Information with our affiliates.
We also collect other information that you provide as part of registration and the administration and personalization of your profile webpage and individual preferences or demographic information ("Non-Identifying Information"). Non-Identifying Information includes Personal Information that we aggregate or otherwise render anonymous.
We may use your Personal Information to authenticate your identity, for fraud prevention, derive other information about you, to impose the Terms of Service and protect the integrity of our Site, or to confirm information you provided to us or included in your profile. We may also verify your profile information through other methods.
We also use your Personal Information to contact you with Sitting for a Cause newsletters, promotional or marketing materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of these communications. Please note that we may use your Personal Information to contact you with information related to your use of the Site; you may not opt out of these notifications.
We collect and store Personal Information automatically and in the aggregate. We use the information we collect to provide and maintain the Site as we, in our discretion, deem appropriate. When you visit or use the Site, we may store some or all of the following:
• The IP address from which you accessed the Site
• The date and time you accessed the Site
• The IP address of the website from which you linked to the Site
• The name of the file or words you searched on our Site
• Items clicked on a page and the browser and operating system used
This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the sections of our Site and identify system performance.
2. Messages Sent Via a Siting for a Cause Account
As part of the Site, Sitting for a Cause Users may communicate with other Sitting for a Cause Users through use of the "Messaging" feature on the site. YOUR USE OF THE “CONTACT” OR ANY OTHER MESSAGING FEATURE OF THE SITE CONSTITUTES BOTH YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT MESSAGES SENT USING THESE FEATURES ARE NOT PRIVATE, AND YOUR CONSENT FOR US TO REVIEW, SAVE, EDIT, DECLINE TO TRANSMIT, AND OTHERWISE USE THE MESSAGES OR THEIR CONTENTS OR DISCLOSE THEIR CONTENTS TO THIRD PARTIES, IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Sitting for a Cause is intended to allow Pet Care Professionals who provide pet care related services and Pet Owners who wish to find care for their pets to share information with one another in order to arrange for the provision of pet care services. Listings posted by Pet Care Professionals, ratings and reviews of Pet Care Professionals, and the Profile Information of Pet Care Professionals and Pet Owners, are visible to any visitor to the site. If a Pet Care Professional and a Pet Owner enter into a confirmed transaction with each other (i.e. the Pet Care Professional accepts the Pet Owner's request, and the Pet Owner's payment details are collected and processed), the Pet Owner and the Pet Care Professional’s Identity Information may be shared by Sitting for a Cause in order to facilitate the reservation. In no event is a Pet Owner's Billing Information shared with their Pet Care Professional.
If you post any of your information to a public area of our Site, it is no longer Personal Information for the purposes of this policy and we or anyone else may use the information without restraint. If you provide access to Personal Information or other information, Sitting for a Cause has no control over how others may use, collect, or disclose that information.
4. Sitting for a Cause Members and Users
When you register through the Site and submit your Personal Information to create a profile, Sitting for a Cause Users will see your profile name so be careful as to what information you put as your profile name. You can choose what other Personal Information you provide as part of your profile. We will display your Profile Information on your profile page, elsewhere on the Site, and on third party sites. Information you choose to provide should reflect how much you want other Sitting for a Cause Users to know about you. We encourage you to guard your anonymity and sensitive information. We request you think carefully about what information you disclose in your profile pages. You can revise and review your profile information at any time.
If you post a profile, we may publish that profile anywhere on the Site and may enable third parties to publish your listing on their site through the use of an HTML "widget". We may also display the geographical location of your listing on a map so potential guests can see the general area and neighborhood of your listing, but your actual street address will not be disclosed until you enter into a confirmed transaction with another Sitting for a Cause User. Note that Users will never have access to your Billing Information.
5. Cookies and Web Beacons
Our Site contains electronic images known as Web beacons. These are used along with cookies to compile statistics to determine how our Site is used. They may be used in some of our emails to let us know which emails and links have been opened by recipients. This allows us to monitor the effectiveness of our customer communications and marketing campaigns.
6. Log Data
When you visit our Site, whether as a user or a non-registered user just browsing, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website ("Log Data"). We use this information to monitor and analyze use of the Site and the Service and for the Site's technical administration, to increase our Site's functionality and user-friendliness, and to better tailor it to our visitors' needs. We also use this information to verify that visitors to the Site meet the criteria required to process their requests.
7. Third Party Service Providers
We may utilize third party companies and individuals to advertise, facilitate and promote our Site, to perform Site-related services, to provide the Site on our behalf, or to assist us in analyzing how our Site and Services are used. These third parties may have access to your Personal Information. If they do, this access is only so that they may perform these tasks on our behalf and they are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We may also provide Personal Information to our business partners or other trusted entities for the purpose of providing you with information on services or gods we think will be of interest to you. You can, at any time, opt out of receiving such communications. We may use your Identity Information, alone or in conjunction with any content you submit to the Site, to promote and advertise the Site and the pet care services you provide without limitation, and may provide your Identity Information and/or your submitted content to third party service providers in connection with promotion and advertising.
8. Aggregate Information and Non-Identifying Information
We may share aggregated information that does not include Personal Information and we may disclose Non-Identifying Information and Log Data with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other purposes. Any aggregated information shared in these contexts will not contain your Personal Information, unless such Personal Information is Non-Identifying Information.
If you are under 18 years old, you may not use the Site. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 18 nor do we allow such persons to use our Site. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with any information whatsoever, he or she should contact us at email@example.com. If we become aware that someone under the age of 18 has provided us with any information, we will delete that information from our files.
10. International Visitors
The Site is hosted in and provided from the United States. If you use the Site from other regions with laws governing data use and collection that may differ from United States law, note you are transferring your personal data to the United States. The United States does not have the same data protection laws as the EU and other regions. By providing your personal information, you agree to the transfer of your personal data to the United States and the use of your personal information in agreement with this policy.
We have put in place electronic, physical, and managerial procedures to secure the information we collect to protect the Personal Information submitted to us. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure since data transported over an open network such as the Internet or email may be accessible to anybody. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
When disclosing personal information through an open network, you should remain mindful that it could be accessible to others and can be collected and used by others without your permission. Your data may be lost during transmission or may be retrieved by unapproved parties. We are not liable for direct or indirect losses as regards the security of your Personal Information or data during its transfer via Internet. Use other means of communication if you think this is necessary.
For security purposes and to ensure our Site remains available to all users, we may employ software programs to monitor traffic and classify unapproved attempts to upload or change information, or cause damage. All payment information is transmitted via PayPal.
We will attempt to make any legally required disclosures of any breach of the confidentiality, security, or integrity of your unencrypted electronically stored personal information to you via email or posting on this Site, so long as it is consistent with measures necessary to determine the extent of the breach and restore the integrity of the data system or the needs of law enforcement.
Identity theft and "phishing" are of huge concern to Sitting for a Cause. Safeguarding information to help protect you from identity theft is a top priority. We do not and will not request your credit card information, account ID, login password, or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication. 13. External Site Links
Sitting for a Cause contains links to third party websites or services which may include or offer third party services or products. If you choose to visit an advertiser by clicking on an advertisement or if you click on another third party link, you will be directed to that third party's website and when you access a linked site you may be disclosing private information. It is your responsibility to keep such information confidential. Third party sites have independent and separate privacy policies. We encourage you to read the privacy policies or statements of the other websites you visit.
The fact that we link to a website or present a banner ad or other type of advertisement is not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third party, nor is it an endorsement of their privacy or information security policies or practices.
Sitting for a Cause will not willfully or intentionally link to any website that exhibits hate, discrimination, or bias. Sitting for a Cause has the right to deny or remove any link for any reason.

Sitting for a Cause may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your Personal Information, in connection with a acquisition, merger, sale or reorganization of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.

All Members may update, review, or correct the Personal Information in their registration profile by editing the relevant part of their profile.
19. Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement
Sitting for a Cause accommodates law enforcement and government officials as well as private parties to enforce and obey the law. We will disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal processes, to protect the property and rights of Sitting for a Cause or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any specific person, in the event of a dispute, or to prevent or stop activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, any unethical, illegal or legally actionable.
