{"id":6218,"date":"2020-11-16T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-16T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/blog\/?p=6218"},"modified":"2020-11-15T20:32:05","modified_gmt":"2020-11-16T04:32:05","slug":"2020-q3-recap-205-donated-to-animals-in-need","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/blog\/news\/2020-q3-recap-205-donated-to-animals-in-need\/","title":{"rendered":"2020 Q3 Recap: $205 Donated to Animals in Need"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p id=\"block-494a1707-429f-4e90-bde3-63cbec832fb0\">We are happy to report that after an extremely quiet Q2, we were able to donate $205 to animal rescues and shelters in Q3! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-494a1707-429f-4e90-bde3-63cbec832fb0\">Here is a breakdown of our donations as designated by our top sitters:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-ddecb2bb-63bd-4097-9cf4-4e7b3e3cfd6f\"><li>$105 to sponsor Dezmon and Sparrow at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.peaceofminddogrescue.org\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Peace of Mind Dog Rescue<\/a> (as designated by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/5-star-housesitters-and-pet-lovers\" target=\"_blank\">Jeff<\/a>)<\/li><li>$60 to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.milofoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Milo Foundation<\/a> (in honor of our sitter <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/alona-patti\" target=\"_blank\">Alona<\/a>)<\/li><li>$20 to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/animalarkmn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Animal Ark<\/a> (on behalf of our sitter <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/puppygrandpa\" target=\"_blank\">Chuck<\/a>)<\/li><li>$20 to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.secondhandhounds.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Secondhand Hounds<\/a> (on behalf of our client Jenny)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-8d9033b7-de59-4681-a669-33a5987ec734\">Like many businesses, we&#8217;ve been hit hard by COVID-19. With fewer people traveling and more people working from home, the need for pet care has declined. This has substantially reduced our bookings and, consequently, our ability to give back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the interim, our team is hard at work supporting animal welfare organizations in other ways. We are assisting with transfers, program development, and grant writing for a few rescues until we are able to ramp up our donations again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are planning on traveling this holiday season, please reach out to us.
