In our last Featured Rescue Friday<\/a>, we featured the wonderful Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary, a Forever Foster Home based Sanctuary in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Recently, this fantastic organization has come under hard times. After complaints from nearby neighbors that the sanctuary was growing too large for the area, the county zoning board has given Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary 60 days to move all of their operations including over 50 senior dogs to a new location.<\/p>\n

60 days, as you can imagine, is a tight time crunch to find a new place and relocate everything.<\/p>\n

Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary wants to stress that this change will ultimately be a positive one. They are excited to be moving to a new, bigger location. This will allow for them to take in more dogs as well as allow more volunteers and forever foster families to visit. There is no word on any final plans yet, but they have said that they will \u201censure that everyone ends up in an environment as wonderful as they have now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though this change is ultimately a positive one for the rescue, moving on such short notice does come with concerns.<\/p>\n
