This week we are featuring the awesome city of Rochester! Now that it is May and the weather is warmer, these venues are the perfect place to check out as you enjoy the weather and venture outside.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.monroecounty.gov\/parks-greececanal.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greece Canal Dog Park<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; This park is 1 acre and includes a\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\">separate area for smaller dogs. All dogs must be registered with the Monroe County Department of Parks for entry into the dog park. Open from 7am to 5pm, October 15<\/span><sup>th<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\"> through March 14<\/span><sup>th<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\">, and 7am to 9pm, March 15<\/span><sup>th<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\"> through October 14<\/span><sup>th<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\">, this is a great place to go if your dog loves to run around and play catch. The hours are 7am to dusk year round and it costs just $24 per year to have access to the park. There are a lot of big hills for your dog to run around on, providing them with a great workout. During the winter you can even sled with your dog if your dog is up for the adventure!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/brusters.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bruster\u2019s Ice Cream<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Speaking of ice cream, Bruster\u2019s is another great place to take your dog. They will even make a free sundae with dog bones crumbled on top for their furry customers. If you\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\">don\u2019t see it on the menu just ask and they will make it for your dog!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/dog-3409916_1920.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5107 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/dog-3409916_1920-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Dog friendly places Rochester\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/dog-3409916_1920-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/dog-3409916_1920-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/dog-3409916_1920-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.sittingforacause.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/dog-3409916_1920.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ptny.org\/cycle-the-erie-canal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canal Way Trail<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013 This trail is one of 1600 rail-traits supported by\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\">Rails-to-Trails conservancy, which is a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nation wide network of trails. This is a perfect place to take your dog for a walk. On the canal on the Fairport side there is a great ice cream shop called <\/span><a style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\" href=\"http:\/\/moonlightcreamery.com\/\">Moonlight<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\"> Creamery that features a dog-friendly outside seating area complete with a water dish for thirsty dogs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/villagebakeries.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Village Bakery and Caf\u00e9<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 With seating outside for your furry friend, they serve soup, sandwiches, salads, quiche and desserts.
